My near new club orange stripe converter took a crap and took out at least the pump and who knows what else deep inside the tranny...to say the least I'm not happy

I should have known something wasn't right when all of the sudden I could build mass amounts of boost out of no where...came back to the trailer and heard a rattling sound from under the car. I put the car up in the air and rotated the converter by hand and could hear what sounded like small marbles rolling around in there. I pulled the tranny and yanked the pan only to find shredded metal on the filter screen. The tranny is going to my builder Friday and hopefully he will call and say nothing else was damaged.

What all else do you think the metal from the converter and pump might have damaged?

I also toasted a orange stripe "club" converter after not many miles also. Never again for me!

Same here. My was used, But I took a chance. It failed or the pump failed. Converter welded to the pump. I can not get it off.

I bet

if you call the Club and ask if anyone else has had a failure--the answer will be "never had a failure on any of them". Same as for the Lunati cams wiping lobes--"never had a failure". I will NEVER EVER buy anything from the Club again.

Well in all fairness , I don't know where mine came from. I bought it used.

My buddy Fast Eddie Brewer has hammered on his club converter for hundreds and hundreds of passes with NO problems at all. I bought a VERY low mile converter from his boss that had maybe 5 passes on it and killed it within 300 miles and 50 passes

I'm going with a Pro Torque billet 9" next, hope that unit stays together.
I just dropped the tranny off to be gone through to see if any internal damage happened as a result of the metal debris from the converter...keeping my fingers crossed.

I bought a "EDGE" 10" lockup 3000 stall , Waiting on the tranny to be done. Good Lord willing ,next week it should be ready.

club conv

I live only 45 min from the "club". I bought one straight from Transcrafters who was building them at the time. Paid $100 for it. I never hurt it but I was basically stock and never locked it at wot. After about 1 1/2 yrs the lock up would shudder and slip if you made over 3# of boost.
