hello; I did a search and found alot of stuff from the past on coating (jet hot and others) and I like to know if anyone has done one recently and where they had it done? How's it holding up? I'd like to coat a DP.I know one who just had it done but the parts are not installed so no info. to be had. I'd like to get someone on the East coast.

DIY ;) remove downpipe, sandblast with coal slag(black beauty) or aluminum oxide. DO not touch with bare hands after blasting, use powder free latex gloves. Next, blow off with compressed air. Finally, use the ceramic 2000 deg black VHT. Give it a few light coats, no runs. DO not allow to dry between coats. Let it air dry 24 hours OR can be oven cured I believe. This is only if you want a black downpipe. The shiney stuff is another story. Good luck! Edit: or you can buy the $65 dollar a pint black ceramic(techline, powder by the pound, ect) and spray it on with a airbrush gun.

Had a local guy do my headers with 1400 ceramic. Looks good but can't say much since I got about 1/2 hour run time on them. He mostly does powdercoating for bikes. He's cheap and does good work.

Aesthetic finishers just did this stuff. It all has run time on it now but I dont have updated pics at this time. IMG_9847.jpg

Aesthetic finishers is the way to go, their prices are crazy low too.
