Give the cobra some credit boys!!!!!!!

There were about 4-5 cobras on STOCK RADIALS moving 11.60-80s last night at AR, there is a national NMRA event this weekend here... N2O pete, Job Spetter, handful of Glidden cars, etc were all there....

I'd say the cobra is one heck of a piece of machinery!!! One of the guys who used to work for us, previously worked for Manley Performance products in NJ, they produced all of the pistons and connacting rods (H beam) that went into these beasts.....and to think Ford hasnt done anything with the performance car line .......LOL!!!!!!!!! and worse yet it takes someone like ME to realize this!!!!!

better watch out with $5k in bolt ons a new cobra would make your 10.60 TR look like its standing still!!!!!!!!!!!

Very short notice? Hell its almost a week away! I've left for MONTHS on less than a day's notice - literally. Cry me a river, please. It's only a few hours. Perhaps an offer to bring the Cobra and my slicks down would sweeten the pot and make the notice a bit less of an issue?

Also, setting up a "meeting" will require meeting halfway - not me coming 90% and you doing the other 10%. Let's be clear....you two aren't even sort of worth that kind of effort.

Finally, if you'd care to compare lives, I'm game. What do you wish to start with? How many kids you got? What are they involved in? How much time does work take away from ya? How rewarding is your work? Other hobbies?

Would you guys ****in drop it? TR's are fast. BUT, the newer stuff is faster. IN the 80's the TR was one of the most technologically advanced powerplants of the time. Sequential injection, distributorless ignition. Turbocharged?? Yes, a remarkable car in 74-87. Times change. We got STOCK Toyota's and Nissans (not discounting any car..just making a point) making 220-240hp with multivalve, electronically timed camshafts that emit almost NO pollution. Now we have Mustangs, Camaro's, Corvettes etc making well over 350BHP and they fall under the LEV or even ULEV emissions classes.

Our cars are neat, fast and fun, but the new stuff out is just amazing

When you wanna race, my new combo will be together by mid Nov. and I will be at BMP in March of 04, and Bowling Green shortly there after. If either is convient for you, bring whatever mustang you own, and I will hand you your ass, GURANTEED. Street or strip, rolling or from a dig, just chose your poison. Don't cry to me, that you class race, and you are limited because of that. If you wanna run your mouth about racing, run what you brung and hope you bring enough. Otherwise you can pound you chest and quote me all you want, but you are still slower and will be checking taillights. My car will be class legal for TSM, and you will never hear my cry about racing a car with a bigger tire then me, or any other advantage they may have(more cubs, two power adders, ladder bar or four link suspension, etc..), like you come up with.

Good for you! Best of luck with your new combo. Personally, I bet its next spring - but that's only a wild ass guess. We'll see. FWIW, I'm (slowly) putting a new combo together myself (not to beat you, little Alex). My goal is a high 10. If your car beats that, then I'll gladly concede that yours is faster than mine. Hey Bob are you definetly coming to O rlando on weds. what car are you going to be with,I might bring my gn out for a little fun I like racing stangs at speedworld,its fun beating up on them,but don't get me wrong their are some out there that are fast,just a little to much money invested for me? and when you come to orlando you will see that the 03 cobras are not as fast as everyone says they are,maybe its just this track. anyhow let me know so I can TRY to come out. Hi Alan. I'm not driving down - I'm flying, so I won't have either car. Sorry bud. My trips are never definate, but this one is about as sure as they come (give it 98%). I'll actually be in some form or rental, but I'll be with a guy with a stout 97 Cobra, red. Look for that with a mid-late 90's Chevy truck and a smaller enclosed trailer.

And believe me...I've seen my fair share of mid 13 second 03 Cobra's on the track - while I've seen a few fast ones too. I think I have a pretty realistic view of what most popular hot rods run.
