CODE 42...

[87 BLACKBEAUTY]

tired of seeing this code....have removed and reseated ECM harness...checked GROUND...have not replaced wires nor ignition module...when code has been reset...its not long that 42 will appear again usaually after a hard shift into 4th(overdrive)....HELP...what else could this be??

Start with the cam sensor make sure it's in good shape. Then work your way to the ICU. Anybody near you maybe you can borrow one from a good running car. Is your car idling ok?
