put a new chip in my 84, from Jay 84 motor with 87 ecm, now my otc 2000 dont read correct. when i check something the reading looks like its for something else. is the chip doing this r is my monitor messed up?

If you have an 87 ECM, you need to set the monitor to read a VIN7 1987 PFI car.

If you still have the 84 ECM, the chip isn't going to work (since it was from an '87 ECM)

Basically:
1. OTC must match the ECM year
2. Chip must match the ECM

... if it still has data wierdness, it's probably due to the chip having the ScanMaster patch in it that reuses some of the data parameters for different things (most notably the trouble codes). This causes the OTC to incorrectly interpret the data.
