Just went through same issues with Charter. Internet was always going down but I had regular cable and bellsouth phones. I swapped everything to Charter to save some $$ and it sucked. Phones and internet was out several hours a day. I happened to see a charter service truck in the neighborhood and spoke with him. The next day he returned with another tech and a bucket truck. They ended up running a seperate line because my alarm system also uses the phone. Still no luck. After I gave them some info they determined it was most likely a return issue with the main line. After about half a day they found the issue on the main line and service has been great.
The initial installation was done by a contractor and was $hitty at best.
