What is the consensus on cam for a build with a turbo/head combo like this one. I am thinking the 212/218 mainly a street car 20 passes per year. I am open to suggestions

I think you'll need more than 50lber's.. I run that cam with 83lber's. With an old school PT-70, runs mid ten's at 20-23lbs of boost. I love the cam, shift it at 6100rpm. I'm trying a bigger turbo, and more boost this year, if I ever make it to the track!!

Definitely more than 50's to get the potential out of that combo...I have a 6776 with iron heads, 218/218, 72# Injectors and dual nozzle alky...My duty cycle is in the mid 80's.

How fast are you wanting to go?

Definetly want high tens....Slow 91z are you running a dual fuel pump...what convertor? Is your set up streetable or track?

Dual pumps, a 340 and an one of Reds old modified TTA pumps. Converter is an Art Carr.

Very streetable IMO.

Peak power will be around 5300-5400 with that cam. I would use a smaller cam for high tens. The injector size will be determined by the boost. I just made 609whp@25.5psi with a late coupling converter on a 8.3:1 engine. It would have peaked higher but the converter flashed to 5500. It held 580whp up to 5900. The cam was the common comp 212/212 .536 lift, GN1 heads cleaned up with some short turn work done. The car will run 10.0-10.20 with that power. You dont need a dual fuel pump for high tens with alky.

You shouldnt be in the 80's with that. I went 127.8mph@3530 and my DC with 72 lb/hr injectors was 68% at its peak 11.3:1 and only a single 15gph nozzle @115psi. Much less alky than a PAC system delivers. Fuel was crappy 93 pump gas. I could have gotten away with 50's based on that. With a PAC i easily could have gotten away with 50's. 50's equals 10.50 with the correct combo. The OP could run 9's with a different converter and a strong tuen with the parts he listed

Target a/f 10.8, the f.a.s.t. is still pulling about 2-3% of fuel, no fuel pressure drop. RPM is higher than yours as well, but the car makes power till 6000.

I agree that the combo he describes should run faster than his goals. 50's would be fine for high 10's, but I would want more injector to go with his proposed combo.

Is the 212/212 cam, .536, with 112 LSA better than a 110 LSA for this application?
