How did you guys mount the power steering reservoir when you swapped to 86/87 drivetrain? Got an 84 with vacuum brakes and there isn't really a spot to mount the reservoir on the 84 inner fenders.

You need the turbo inner plastic fender

I may be wrong here, but, I converted an 86 na regal and the 2 "posts" that are on the turbo inner fender were on the na regal too......it might have something to do with the year and not the model.....?

If the car is a T Type or GN the posts will be there in 84 /85 but not on NA models from what I know.
I'm not sure on NA 86/87 models if the posts are there or not

From my previous post, yes they are there.....unless somebody snuck in my garage and swapped inner fenders on me.

Oil Drainage Issue

Why not drill a hole and tap into the fuel pump blockoff plate? I think they're all the same for 3.8 rear wheel drives so if you could get another one couldn't you just drill a hole, tap it and screw in a fitting? I'm preparing to do a hotair to ic conversion on my 84 clone and am curious how this would be recieved.

ALL YOU GUYS ARE WRONG ON THE WHEEL WELLS! WHEEL WELLS ARE THE PLASTIC LINERS THAT KEEP THE CRAP OUT OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT.

both left and right are turbo car specific!!!! the left side is diffrent because the air box mounts on the frame horn so the wheel well is molded diffrent in that area.

the right side is diffrent where the relays mount on NA CARS there are the 2 bumps. turbo cars do not have these bumps

all 84 -87 turbo wheel wells are like i stated above.

i think what you guys are also talking about is the relays mount on the inner fender structure which unbolts from the fender. fenders and inner fenders are all the same between all the cars BUT WHEEL WELLS DIFFER,

you can use a non turbo wheel well on a turbo car but they are diffrent!

you can do this no problem my buddy craig did it on a converted car and i am going to do it too.

This is good info, i dont have a whole 87 car to swap part's, i just have a engine. So i need to get harness first? Will a Scan tool work on this 84GN, or i got to change to a 87 setup for it to work?
