The convertor in your sig :)

A re-stalled stock 12" converter will suck on the street with a 60 turbo.

A 10" or 9/11 converter with 3200 stall is what we have found works well with a 60 on the street and the track.

Local friend with a 60 on his GN ran a 10.90 with an Art Carr 9/11, and his heads were stock except for the valve springs.

Nick how much boost did he need (if you know) to run the 10.90? BP, I run a TE60 as well with 9.5" 3000ish Husek converter that seems to work pretty well.

It will run well enough in the street to turn 11.0x @ 119 with a 1.58 60

Same car with a stock D5 and a 51 went 11 teens @ 117 .. this was a properly tuned E85 car...
i hate the big converters in the street.. just blow the tires off..

Thanks nick .man guess i will have to stall on the install .till i fined one .i do have that restalled 2800.but like nick said wont be happy any one got one.

So turbo 89 ? Your. Saying it will run good with the 2800?

That turbo isnt ideal for your setup but if its what you have so be it..

Just remember E85 you can do alot with the tuning to help it spool .. there is only so much power you can put down on the street .. being a bit soft can work in your favor.. and from a roll on the highway i like the lockups

Another example of it working fine ..

Pay attention to what the OP posts and what he is comparing ...
This setup can work very well on a street car on E85 .. People shit on the D5 just because its stock .. but it can work very very well. IS it the best converter for every setup .. Umm no
but for a setup like yours .. I think it would work well.

FWIW, had a TA60 with a .63 Garrett and stock converter on a close to factory stock GN. Worked well and never thought spool up was an issue. Eventually had a Dave Husek 3021 converter installed and getting power to the ground without spinning was a problem with street tires. Sold the car before I could get drag radials on it...

What makes you think you need one?is the car lazy or do you want more response?do you have enough tire to take the hit of a converter that makes more torque?there are a lot of good converters for these cars now but you need to know what your looking for.d5s re stalled can run fast on stock combos as well.

My TBPT 245mm 3021 HF Lock-up will be the correct converter for your car. Depending on some other variables, I can custom build the converter for optimal performance. Give me a call for more info..

So i had this converter in my garage will it be to much stall for my setup . i believe its tci functional lockup 10" stalls from 32000 its for the 200 or 7004rs .anybody had these and thoughts.

The converter has a pump with a very positive fin angle which is not optimal. It will be very loose and will not couple in the used rpm of your motor. Slip will be excessive.

The restalled D5 will probably balloon if you push it hard enough. Have 2 friends eat thrust bearings and and trans. I have a 2800 9x11 TCS and a TE61 and just did a 1.68 60ft leaving at 2800 and 0 boost and went 11.25@118.7
