Coolant temps drop when alky kicks in

Just wondering if anyone else has seen this: Whenever I get on my car my coolant temps drop quite a bit. Like from 160 to 130 something. This is only after a short burst even, not like a full pass. Maybe 2 or 3 seconds of WOT. I run 93 pump and methanol in one of Julios kits. I'm just wondering how cold this sucker would get in a full pass?!

Man that must be a hell of a radiator

I know it will cool the intake, tho I never noticed a huge drop in coolant temps. But hey if it works.. dont knock it.

Yeah, I got the no holds barred cooling system. CAS aluminum radiator and Ramcharger dual fans, 160 stat. Must just be the intake cooling off and the temp sensor (being in the intake) is seeing that. At this rate, the mator is going to be at 90 degrees at the end of a run! But hey, theres worse problems!

Are you running a thermostat? Your water pump is spinning alot faster during a run and may be pushing the water through the motor so fast it can't pick up any heat to transfer. Same thing if the 'stat is stuck open.

Yeah, a 160 stat. Car runs 159-165 all day no matter what, but even after a long drive if I hit the throttle and the meth sprays, the coolant drops. Never did that before the alky. Maybe just cooling down the combustion chamber so much that the temps drop?
