I'm thinking of getting a T70 from Cotton's non-BB, .85 exhaust housing, but I was wondering if my 3400 stall will help spool this thing quick enough. I have another option of getting the CPT-65 BB which is the 61mm compressor with the ballbearing option, and .85 exhaust. And lastly, I could also get a Garrett T67. Like I said I'm running 3400 stall, 72lb injectors, 3.42 gears, stock internals, no nitrous. What do you guys think the best way to go is???

I have a CPT-65bb with a 3000 stall 9x11 lockup and it spools really quickly. I would think that the 3400 would be overkill. The CPT-66bb would probably be a better match.

Well I just seen Cotton at the Buick race and show at Indy, Have a 3400 stall, 65lb injec., 3.42 and run it last year, At the show I had Cotton take my T70 non-bb off and put a bb 66, He said one of his favorites on, It is a stock block car and I didn't think it would spool the 70 the way it should or the way I wanted, It did run 11.30 with slicks though

What he said. You'll probably need more stall with the 70.

Ditch the .85 exh housing if you are worried about spool up.
3400 is a nice amount to spool up that turbo as long as your tune is good and you have mods to support it.

I say the non BB CPT-65 (61mm) w/ the .85 housing, or the CPT-70BB w/ .85 housing. I have purchased 3 BB 70's from Cotton and loved them all. I am also a big fan of the bigger exhaust housings. But mph is more important to me than ET.

I would say go with the 65 bb turbo. With that converter and turbo, you will spool up right at the stall speed of the converter. That is one advantage of the bb turbos.

You wont ever get the max airflow out of a 70 with a stock block. You have to run boost levels of 30 to 32 psi on them to do it.

The .85 housing will be a good choice with a 65. That will be very responsive on the street or strip.

I went with the CPT-65 BB, I found out my converter is a 3200-3400, hopefully it isnt overkill.....
