I never respond to craigslist adds without a phone number. Typically its a scam when the number is not on the add.

Anyone serious about selling something puts the phone number. Anything else is just fishing for your interest and information.

how does the scam work?? i dont understand why they post fake ads?
Becuase it usually involves someone sending someone else some money. And leaving no trail in the process like an email.

Example.. you respond your interested. They say the rear end is in Texas at their dads house.. I can ship it to you for 100.. just send me 1100 and i'll ship it on a truck. Someone falls for it send this guy in Nigeria (without knowing their in Nigeria)1100 bucks.. and whalla. There's your scam. Its the same adds claiming 2009 Toyota for 3200, or Ipads for 150, or... never a phone number.

Like I said.. no phone number=no trail. No trial=no business. If your dumb enough to fall for it.. call it a life lesson. 1k will teach you pretty good.

One thing you will notice is that scanners don't like to talk on the phone.

Saturday will be good to see it.. How much cash thoe everybody hits me up with cash in hand but the cash they have is not enough..
I'm not trying to be rude or a jerk but that's how it is..

Guero "El Cabron".. nice email.. Those that speak Spanish knows what that means

Maybe the guy has a stock GN rear end with a TA girdle, and was too lazy to snap his own pics.

I know 3-4 guys, not including myself, that have a TA rear girdle on a stock rear on SoCal.

He must have been too lazy to list his phone number in that case also. If it walks like a duck..........

i've bought and sold a few things on CL.. i never put my number in the ad- i don't want my cell number broadcast out there like that- so i just tell them to respond to the email link at the top of the page, which leads to the yahoo address i've had since about 1999.
i also never call numbers that are listed in ads- again, i'm not giving anyone my number until i'm sure it's a legit deal. it's usually pretty easy to weed out any scammers or other shady people.

just this week i responded to an email about a "class 5 receiver hitch" that was obviously a class 4 from the pics and all it said was that it was from "a pickup".. i asked for the model number of the hitch and what it came from.. the response was to ask what i needed it to fit and to say that it's easily modified to fit a number of vehicles. i responded that we could just stop this silliness and i'd decide to buy it or not if they'd just tell me what kind of truck it came from or what the model number on the sticker said or send me some better pics.. never heard back again and the ad is still up..
