On my new engine I am installing a new crank sensor (bought from a board vendor). I'm using the stock bracket/mount and stock balancer, reluctor. The timing cover is new from Webers.
The sensor is centered as I can get it, but I only measure about 0.020" on each side. I can see that something is slightly angled (sensor and/or mount bracket) so that is a measurement of the minimal gap. Should I take it apart and try to get it straight or leave it alone? It is not 0.025" clearance, but it is centered on all 3 metal reluctor portions.

If the tabs of the reluctor are centered in the crank sensor slot it should be fine.
