SignUp Now!Ive had one break that was Chromed back to standard.I talked to them before and they told me they cut the crank back .060 and build it back.. I guess it all depends on how much power your going to make and how bad it was hurt. I wouldnt use one that had black death. As cheap as the off shore cranks are id rather use one of those.
Anyone ever had a undersize crank cromed to standard? if so any problems?

mike, thanks info. its a little too late as i allready got it back from them.it was supposed to be standard not .010 under. as far as looks its ok, i got it polished and i think it will work. i just got po. because i paid for them to make it standard. i have called 6 times and got their recording and i left messages to call me, so far nothing, jim rock said he never has had a problem with them, he still uses them, jim dotson said he has had them to do work also no problems, so i guess so me people are just lucky,![]()
I had one done in 1989 and it was beautiful, but due to the power we made with it it broke at the #5 rod journal, nothing to do with the chrome work, it was a bms 3.590.
I had one done about three years ago and it was just awful, they wanted to be paid in advance ( didn't happen) and when it arrived some two months later it still had rough spots in the journal I specifically told them to repair. Makes you think the owner had some problems and may still have.
I regretably recommended a friend send his lotus crank to them and the size and finish was so bad he threw the 600.00 crank ( that was the repair bill) in the dumpster and bought a 2000.00 new crank.
You asked and I answered.

Odell do you mind saying what one crank cost to do that??
I'm regretting going 20 under and supposedly straightening my stock crank, it's either a cut or a new crank for me from now on.
