I found the one track that was still open this time of year and off I went.

I took both cars, 87-GN 6cyl - 87 GN 8cyl

I have ran the 109 block several times 11.50's...runs nice. But new to me is my 500c.i. bbc with an f2 procharger. When I arrived I drove to the end of the track to check out stoping distance..Looked good...no chutte needed.

Then I lined up...left on the trans brake and almost smoked my DR 275/60's off the rim. Track was cold and she let loose AGAIN after I finally got her straight. Not use to this much H.P. I swung right, then left, then right again and almost hit the wall. I had to let off and ease back in..

Well, no more trans brake with these tires in this cold...I am going to have nightmares about my own car after that one.

I left next on the foot brake, had to ease into it and shift a bit early..still lost my tires at around 330'

Ok, try again....Leave like a sissy, shift early, get her rolling...foot to the floor......9.86 @ 141 mph

Repet process...leave week, shift at 4000, pop into 3rd....foot to the floor......9.80 @ 141 mph

This is the best I could do with these DR 275/60/15's and a cold track.

This car has a bunch left in it. I think it's time for some tire modification.
I have never been this fast before and was just happy to get this maiden voyage behind me...

DadGum!

What track?

Sounds like there is alot more in it......

60' time?

1/8 mile time... and mph?

I think I should move to where I can race year round...:frown:. Where did you get the procharged car from? Any pics? I know a guy here had one he was considering selling a while back.

Yup..Thats the beast.

It's too dam fast for those tires...

Having an issue with the water pump. I think it's a relay.

With my three cars i've turned into a full time mechanic.

When you say hub you mean "hub city" in Hattiesburg...correct?

Been there once..never got half a ticket before..lol

Grudge racing and side bet heaven.

But the track hooks like a 60 year old prostitute.

I am about 1 hr out of Hattiesburg...I like Gulfport and No Problem.

I do the Wendsday nights at Gulport and when weekend racing starts I will be camping and partying...It would be nice to have a few more buick guys around.

Just look for the big black cars

Got any more details on the combo your running? Any pics?

Well:

500 bbc
f2 procharger
turbo 400

Pain in the ass..oil filter location
Pain in the ass..relay location
Pain in the ass..remove procharge to check valve lash deal
Big Stuff and Digital 7 ..that I dont understand
Caged to 8.5 with window net I keep shutting the door on
Chutte that I don't use and probly couldn't pack right if I did
275/60/15 DR that force the car to leave with 10 degrees of timing out of first.
8.5 rear with strange axels that will explode on my next pass

But really a nice..high end build..I didn't do it..I don't have the patience.

I'am still building sbc 383's... and trying to tune the V6.

From what I've heard it's an art to hook the 275's, I got a set here I plan to run this year. They have been in the 1.teens and ALOT of guys run 1.20's.
Key seems to be in setup, shocks & power control. There's alot of good reading on yellowbullet.com on radials.

John

If I could figure out how to send pictures??? Wait....could it be?

Very nice car! I hear ya, removing the head unit on the sideslingers is a pain. The f2 is a bad blower might want to learn how to pack chute. Timming control is a must on small tired procharger cars to get them down the track!! GOOD LUCK AND BE SAFE!!!
