Back in the early 90's, We took (6) cranks, welded them to (6) 14in wheels & used them for car show rope stands. We never had to worry about them falling over on the car. 
They have been borrowed for "SEVERAL" car shows and still work to this day. Robert (86TexasT) from the Houston Buick Club may have some pix. He was the last one to use them for Autorama.
