When is it time to start thinking beyond forged? Seriously. I don't want to hear "you can run into the nines with....." You know what I mean.

6 banger crank with 4 mains, when is a forged crank not enough?

Discuss.

I know there is a HP cap on a forged crank. I don't know what it is but I would guess its around a 1000 crank hp. And since you have the money to cross that HP line then a 2800 crank is not far out of reach.

Meh, I'm not at the 1k HP level yet. But i've been running 9.6x on old outdated stuff and heads that were overported that slowed me down 5 mph.

I figure I can improve on that with some updating, fixing my combo, and a few more cubes. I bet I can do at least 800hp. But over 2 grand in a billet over a forged is tough to swallow. It's a tough decision.

Maybe call the folks at Lunati... They say that the forged has a better grain pattern than a billet....
