Cruise Control

As I was cruising along with the cruise engaged...i tapped the brakes to disengage, which it did, but then the cruise resumed it self. The cruise light stayed on the entire time. I had to shut the cruise off on the lever handle. Tried again and same thing happened, Any ideas. The car had not been driven in a couple of weeks.

Sounds like a short in the stalk switch. Maybe try to squirt some No Flash electrical cleaner or something in it. The resume/accelerate switch on mine doesn't work but I just ignore it, but having it turn back on IS a problem.
