I just bought this 43K original car, and the cassette player doesn't work. (waaah) Is there anyone reputable to send this to to make it work? This car is a time capsule from 1987, and I don't want to change it up (much). With all the Bose stuff that's out there, I'd like to make this thing rock, but appear stock. Any ideas? Thanks!

Craig Kettner (I think). He did mine, he did a great job. I had major problems and he was honest with me and took care of them all. Very professional.

My 87 GN with 15,000 miles had the stock radio and it sounded horrible. If you turned it up the entire right channel was out in the radio. It was popping and cracking. I replaced it with an alpine until I found someone to fix the stock radio. After several months I found this guy who added aux pigtail on the back for iPod and replaced internals that were broken and replaced all worn cassette parts for about $85. I shipped it to him in Missouri and I had it back by the end of the week. His name is Anthony and his email is barlosal@aol.com Send him a message and he will call you and talk to you about it. I'm totally satisfied with mine and it sounds and works great. let me know what you find out. It's been about 6 months since he did this for me but he might remember so just tell him Kelly in Atlanta. I asked him then if it was ok to pass his name around and he said it was he just didn't want me posting phone numbers all over the place. So start with his email. I replaced dash speakers with tweeters doors and rear deck all with kenwood speakers and I don't have an amp and to me stock radio and it sound great and simple.

Hey, Kelly, thanks for the info. That sounds like just the ticket! It'll be awhile as the car is in Tucson and I'm working outside of Atlanta, but now I have a name. Cheers!

He'll give you the phone number once you've made email contact and he can tell you real quick if it's something he can do. Like I said I got my radio fixed and shipped back to me within the week and it is perfect.

I am not pulling your leg, You can use a rubber band. Match one that is close to the original drive belt. If you feel comfortable taking the top of the radio.

I'm thinking I will hit him up as well I bought an original radio unit and it was modified for aux to add ipod to it and after a few years I finally decided to try out the cassette player today come to find out it doesn't work ! Bummer now I really want to get it fixed the problem I'm having is the cassette won't even go in all the way as if there's something there stopping it

He's a retired gm engineer so that's right up his alley

Guys my radio has an iPod plug as well. There is a black connector that comes out of the back of the radio, where does it go?
