I am in the process of developing a 6 egt data logging system that will use a relay and micro-computer to give a warning contact output at any preset temperature, and you will be able to use this to data log directly with the xfi through the analog inputs. If you don't want to use this with your xfi you could use it just as a warning system, and it will tell you on the built in display which cylinder got too hot. These are custom made and I don't have the exact pricing as of yet. You will have to supply your own egt probes. Pricing I should be able have within a few days, but im estimating between 300-400. The more orders I have the cheaper It will be. If you think you maybe interested in this email me or send me a PM.

Norb,

Sorry to critique your system but here are my comments,

This would be much more attractive if you made this comunicate through the CAN conection instead of sucking up the analog inputs. Most people who use EGT will most likley be utilizing the analog inputs.

Thermocouples react slow. At least 1 second delay and more with larger thermocouples. The warning system may react to late to be effective.

No thats ok your comments are welcome. However the unit will react to alarm within 10ms of the highest egt reading it sees. The exposed tip thermocouples react pretty fast, remember the sensors will be at 800-900 just idling and easily 1400 by the time you leave the line. If you use the can bus its not going to give you quicker results than the thermocouple that is in front of it. The can bus data stream is special to fast, that information to decipher the data is unknown, so I can;t go that route. What would you use the 8 analog inputs for instead?

Norbs,

In my case, I'm using the analog inputs for

Oil pressure
Trans Line pressure
Trans charge flow pressure
Exhaust back pressure
Boost solenoid pressure(Fast boost control)
Fuel pressure
Hot Boost pressure(Before intercooler)

Im sure your unit will work very well, Just thought I would give my 2 cents.

You have brought up a good point, those inputs are nice to have. Looks like fast needs a CAN BUS Analog input extender. I will post on the forum for a new product request.
