Does anyone have any experience with exhuast port coatings? (i.e. ceramics or high temp). I am going to get my headers, crossover, downpipe, uppipe, and exhuast elbow ceramic coated to try to keep the heat away and was wondering what gains would be had by coating the exhaust runners in the head? I have a 1985 Hot air, and my rational is that the more heat you keep out of the engine due to exhaust temps, the cooler the engine bay will be and cooler the intake temps will be. Are the heads worth doing? I was quoted for $30/exhaust port. Any thoughts on this are welcomed.

Thanks!

There is a good thread on this running currently on the (dare I say) Turbobuicks.com forum. Consensus is that it definetly helps but not noticeable on the seat dyno. Really helps to hold off knock and reducing coolant temps by shielding the water jackets. I would think a hot air would benefit more than a 86/87 motor. Anyone else chime in with some experience here?

There was a thread in one of the buick sites that took you to a HOT ROD article which was about NA engine and coating the exhaust ports to hold the heat from the adjacent intake port. I waited to anwser because Im also looking into this after reading the article, sounded really good.
