Crack in the # 1 main from broken crank--7 matching J&E pistons--wrist pins--spiral lock and rings. Block is 4.015 bore--Pistons are for matching bore with 3.625 crank and 6.5 rods. $1000

crack

Crack is in the stud holes (in block)---this block has 4 steel caps and takes a BBC rear seal---85 casting year. I have tried to take pics but can not get them to come out clear.

Is it in between two studs or one side of one of them, also does it seem like it would be repairable? Have you hade any machine shops look at it?

crack

Both stud holes has a crack from the stud hole out to the front. Have not had a machine shop look @ it. There is a man who specializes in welding cast iron blocks. He is between me and BG. Plan on stopping there on my way down. Will know more @ BG. Thanks

Hey Lee, are you refering to Ray Shepherd? If not, you may want to let him check it out. He can fix just about anything. His # is 502-645-7444. See you at BG.

Let me know when you find out I'm very interested if it could be repaired
