Delayed 1-2 shift

Hey Guys, I need help in diagnosing a soft 1-2 shift. The tranny will shift from 1-2 but with a delay then it will grab it, third gear is nice and tight. When down shifting from 3-2 under throttle it is quick and firm, same goes for 2-1 shift under throttle. The tranny is out of the car now and I will tear into it this weekend, what should I look for that is accessible without actually pulling the guts out? Once I pull the valvebody what do I look for? This tranny was built approximately 5-7000kms ago and should have a billet servo although it doesn't look it from the outside. I can take pictures in a day or two and email if it helps. Thanks

mine does the same thing but from 2nd to 3rd.....im curious to see what you find out on yours.
