did i kill my trans. need help:

Installed my alky kit and TT chip. 18# felt good. 20 - 23#. Trans started slipping in 3rd. Tryed again, slipping again. The trans has a shift kit. But also has 197k miles on it. Could it be the filter needs changing. Or a rebuild. Where should i go from here. The car is a street car. maybe go to track abt 3 times this yr and run it abt 6 times. But im going to drive it more than it will b raced. Does anybody on the forum have a good rebuild that want br8k tha bank. NEED HELP. TKS John

when i rebuilt motor the trans said "see ya". Thought it was pretty cool laying rubber on a 45mph punch. Transmisson thought otherwise. I smoked my 2nd gear band or drum I guess

almost 200k, I think you got your moneys worth out of it. Time for a rebuild, and probably some fancy hard parts to keep it going with the additional power.

You could buy a Rebuild Kit w/HD Billet parts from Extreme Automatics, CK Performance etc.. & have it built locally.

Now that you upped your horsepower at the motor, Best to bulletproof your tranny so won't have any problem's an enjoy many more miles..It's about $2300 ,But it'll Surrive what ever you throw at it!!! The member above this post posted the Good Stuff you need
