I had a MOATES ALDL cable before I got Datamaster for my Syclone ... then when I bought Datamaster it came with an ALDL cable.

I was wondering if I can use the same ALDL cable with all scan tools , and all obd1 cars (my TTA and the Syclone).

The TTA isnt running right now ... and is in storage or I would go check myself.

It would be nice to sell one if I only need one for both cars and both scan tools.

Thanks :) ---

It is hard to say. When I had an RS 232 port on my PC I used a program called WinALDL and I have to build a simple hardware interface circuit. I circuit was simply an npn transistor and a couple resistors. One of the resistor had to be pulled up to vbat. I had a cigarette lighter adapter for this. Of course I had to use regular wires to plug into the ALDL port and I had an RS 232 connector to plug into my PC.

I don't think this helps you a whole lot. Because the cable could be depend on the device that it is being plugged into. All the pin I/O on the ALDL adapter is the same.
