Had to replace my puny 14" long cone filter so I decided to step up the airflow.

Thats a 12 inch long by 7.5 inch diameter cylinder. The opening is 6 inches. I got the idea to do this after seeing this

for sale online. Its a velocity stack that is designed to mount to a 3" pipe and the stack has a 6" outer diameter.
Using that velocity stack gains almost 100 cfm over an open pipe @ 10"h20. I believe a 6 inch long pipe will flow 390 cfm without that, and then will flow like 480 cfm with it.

You'd also be surprised what effect tube length has on airflow. The airflow quickly reduces the longer the pipe is. Turbos don't like to suck air, they are not efficient at it.

anyway, thought youd get a kick out of it. I'm still chuckling every time I look at it thinking what people are going to say when I go to the track.

Oh, and yes, I do plan on painting the AC delete plate. I was just in a hurry when I put it in. And no, I don't know who dan is lol, the guy who sells them goes by "whoisdan" for some reason. My buddy found this for me on one of his honda forums of all places.

one of the funny things is that i found a stack almost just like that in shape at autozone with a 6.5 inch outer diameter. You can believe it or not make it fit into a 6" opening k&N filter (i tried) and its a lot cheaper than the one I bought. It doesn't look anywhere near as high quality though. Its like hard plastic with what appears to be a chrome paint on it. It would work though

How do you like the MAF post turbo? Work good? That is a huge air filter haha..

Get rid of that Fram oil filter...Wix or Napa gold.

The post turbo maf is great. Spool up and transitional fuel are much more accurate now. Plus there is no restriction now ahead of the turbo.

You know I was looking to make a switch to a different oil filter brand after I kept noticing fram filters had crud in them brand new out of the box. I even found a pretty substantial metal shaving in one. I was in a hurry this last time so I didn't cross reference to another brand. Ill try one of those two next time.

Or you could have bought an S&B filter with the curved base (built in velocity stack) with a reverse cone and gone with a smaller filter with almost as much filter area.

here's where I got mine
S and B Air Filters
