I used to own a 93 Mazda RX-7 twin turbo. Turbo timer was a nice addition to help preserve turbo life. Do GN's T's need turbo timers? Gets unbeievably hot under the hood, so I wans't sure about the turbo timers for these cars. I dont see anyone who uses one. Please explain. Thanks

IMO you don't need one. Just allow the engine to idle as you are coming in to stop the car or let it idle for a couple of minutes after you stop.
If you want something that is really good then get the 12 volt pre & post lube system. Around $450+ from Summit. It pre lubes the turbo & engine before you activate the starter and will pump oil to the turbo & engine for up to 7 minutes (adjustable) after you turn the key to off.

Most just let the engine idle for a couple of minutes if they have been rawhiding the car.

you need a turbo timer like a bad hangover...

we're talkn' 'merican iron here....more specifically GM (baseball, apple pie & Chebbys)

these vehicles are designed to self destruct in 3 yrs and one day or 36,001 miles, whatever comes first

anything you do to inhibit such, will be considered unAmerican and ricer

actually, a "turbo timer" would be a waste of $$....lotsa TR's running around with 100K miles on the turbo

spend your money on something useful, like a nice trunk mounted wing

whoah, who pissed in your cornflakes? :D

Once you park, wait to shut off the car until you roll up the windows! They are usually incredibly slow, so there's your timer:eek:
