Does anybody know if someone has run 9.0 to 9.5 et's on pump gas with a SII motor?

No E85, no alky just straight 93. Has it been done? Is it even posssible? Or is this turbo V8 territory only? Thanx.

I personally don't know of anyone that has ever done it under those stipulations.

Seeing that our motors need high boost and higher than pump gas timing to make the necessary power, I would say it would be a serious challenge. I can see maybe 9.90's on a 276 SII with a 8884 turbo at low boost, 20* timing and pump gas though.
Would be interesting for sure.
Maybe someone will chime in.

9.5 isnt likely at full weight. High 9's has probably been done. Turbobitt ran 10 teens @17-18psi weighing about 3800 lbs. It wouldn't have been hard to run 9's with that power in a lighter car. It was a 8:1 272ci? Stage 2 with a relatively small solid cam and a 76 q trim (not gtq) in a on center ex housing. Most don't care about what they can run on 93 when they can afford 116 and can make 300hp more building around higher octane. When you have a $25k engine why would you scrimp on fuel? The above car spooled very fast with that small t4 turbo on there and logged many street miles on straight 93.

I went 9.7 at 16psi, but I was using alky. This was with only a 1.45 60ft so I think it's possible.
