my first car i had was a 87 grand national it was a rust bucket but ran 11.80 in street tune . traded it for my 90 stang. can kick my ass for that one but know i have the best of both worlds the bustang

Well if it was a rust bucket, then no big loss. Maybe a few parts off it would be nice for a future car, but the mustang is nice looking so your good.

I regret selling my 1987 T-Type...needed some body work, but overall, a great car. I pretty much kick my ass daily for that one. That's why I'm looking for an '87 Grand National currently.

P.S. Checking out a couple leads. If anyone knows of one for sale in either Texas or Florida, please let me know. Aloha.

7 years ago i sold my 70 mustang fastback to a teenage kid for 150 bucks. at the time i was too busy to work on it and i had nowhere to store it.(and my now ex gf hated it) man i still kick myself for that one.

When I was 15 my Dad offered me his '66 Caprice. I was into cars but said no because I didn't want to have to cut the dash for a stereo. Oh yea, the car was red with a black vinyl top, black bucket seat interior, console, power windows, tilt/telescopic wheel, gauges, a/c, 325hp/396 and 60,000 miles. Stupid kid

I haven't had one yet, but my dad bought a '63 Corvette, black on black with a 327/ 4 speed in '66. A few years later he sold it for $1K to get some money for his first born children (twins). Looking back both him and my mom agree... they should have sold the kids instead...

In 1970 I bought a 69 Plymouth RR convertible with 18K on it for 2200, bench seat with 4 speed air grabber hood red with black bench interior, road wheels, black top, I had it for about 3 years, and some low life MF stole it. I would still have it today if not for that , never been recovered.

Throughout my life I have had the privilege of owning and driving many of the classic musclecars. One that I still regret selling is my 68 Camaro SS. It was a factory 396/375 HP 4 speed car. I had to sell it in 1981 to start my own business. I was the second owner and I bought it in 1972. The other regret is not trading it for a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible (7,000 miles) of a racing buddies. He wanted the Camaro ( 12.7 ) bad, but the Hemi was slower ( 13.2 )and he was asking for 500.00 cash difference. I thought he was nuts. It was completely white. Interior, top and paint. Probably a one of a kind. Makes me sick thinking about it now. LOL

I wish I had pics of the countless early Corvettes and Chevelles that I had in those days. They were a dime a dozen, and with the gas crunch in the mid eighties, noone wanted them.

It hurts to think about it. Lets see, there was the 67 Camaro with the 327/365 horse 65 Corvette motor, cuz I was buying a house, and the 55 chevy, cuz of the same house, and the perfect body, no rust corvair that I gave to the junk yard because I did't want to spend 200 bucks to fix the trans axle, and the perfect condition 67 Chevelle for 150 bucks because I pulled prevouisly stated motor to go in prevously stated camaro. Oh, ya, and lets not forget the beautiful 1 owner, with 48k miles, from an 87 year old lady, a 1968 Caddy Convertabile, Traded to get into show vans. Ahh, does anyone remember "Van Ins"? There are more, like the 69 Super Bee, but I am getting misty eyed.

Gone but not forgotten

I had a 1971 Chevy Caprice. 400 sbc and I was 2nd owner. Car ws really mint with some power. Cruised great on the hiways, especially long trips. Some box truck nailed it while it was parked. Insurance company offered me 2300 for the car but I hd to junk it. Not wanting to hae a salvaged title i declined and continued to drive it. My ex and i were planning on starting a family (not by choice) so had had to sell the car bc gas was too much.. Soon after I sold it i found out i couldve kept it bc she lied... Now thats painful..
Lesson learned= I finally have a GN and the only way i will part with it is when they bury in it....

Wish I could find my pix. Only two that I really REALLY regret getting rid of....
In 1968, purchased new, 68 Mustang fastback 4 spd 289. Then in 69, traded it in on the purchase of a 69 Nova SS 396/375 M21 4spd, took over 4 months to get it built and delivered.

UNGN, no I have never tried to do that, its been what about 35 yr's ago, but I do think of it often.

i often contemplate selling my # matching mostly original judge to get a turbo t or limited. Just don't want to regret it, would trade in a heart beat for similar condition 70 GS stage 1 4 speed.

1971 Hornet SC360

I paid $2400 for it and I think I sold it for $4500.

It was a pretty fun car and one of only a handful of cars I'd buy back for what I sold it for.
