Does my daughters T-type have the right tranny?Please help

I'm buying a new T for my daughter to race.The transmission was rebuilt last year and i am wanting to make sure the right tranny was put back in.It is sluggish on the 1-2 shift.Is there a way to make sure this is the original tranny?I would appreciate all help.

There is a ID tag on the side of the tranny, what are the numbers?

The tag on the passenger side has BR-F.I will have to get under it to get the other #'s. I have the #'s from the DS on the bellhousing, above the shift arm and in front of the speedo cable.

BRF is what you want to see.

At least the case is proper. I'd imagine that if you've got the original case, you probably will have the proper valve body, governor and servo. If you can see the casting number on the servo cover (near the cat. converter), it should end in '694'.

Checking for proper valve body & governor will require pan removal to be sure. How many miles are on the trans?

Look for the proper VIN code also on a boss just above the pan rail on the drivers side just behind the shifter cable and controls.

Should match the last digits of the dash VIN.

Stamped with small font stamped so get under there with a flashlight and some grease cleaner.

Thanks for the help. Looks like we got the right stuff and it just needs dialed in.She will be racing it or her other T at the Track championships at Muncie Dragstrip in High School class.She may be racing the next day(sun)at Morrocco,but we will be there for sure! Peace WildBill

adjust the tv cable, mine was sluggish and slipping until i adjusted the tv cable and found that the last owner had installed a aggressive shift kit

Yes try giving the TV cable an extra click or 2 and see if that firms it up any.
