How does the engine programming use the MAP readings? Does it use the readings or are they only for gage readout? I want to wire a MAP sensor in but not sure how to use it. Does the engine control actually use the readings or is it just for display? Thanks

map with stock chip /ecm is only for the gauge , the signal from the sensor only goes to the analog cluster boost gauge
digital dash cars dont even have a map sensor

with powerlogger it can be tapped into log boost pressure up to 15psi , a 3bar sensor is needed to log to ~29psi
with alkycontrol alchohol-methanol injection kit a 3bar map sensor is used to control the pump speed

I'm just wondering why there is a 2bar MAP sensor installed in my gn? I don't have power logger and my achy control is from a separate pressure switch that turns it on. I have a dial boost gage that reads boost from the turbo output. I use a turbo tweak chip. I have to check what connector is plugged into it. I don't know what it's used for. Thanks

Stock is a 2 BAR if I remember correctly. It all depends on which dash ya have.

Analog used the MAP sensor for the boost gauge in the dash.

Digital uses a Hobbs switch.

Green wire should be 5v.

I run from the MAP sensor to my boost/vac gauge.

When does the green wire have 5v, with just key on or under boost? I would like to check that. Thanks again.

Sorry I told ya wrong.

MAP should get voltage when key is on. MAP will get the 5v from the boost gauge module, if ya have the analog dash.

Terminals on MAP(under hood):
A-Ground(black)
B-Signal(green)
C-5v(Grey)

So wouldn't the grey wire have the 5v when key is on and the signal wire be a variable voltage output depending on the pressure? I have an analog dash BTW. Just trying to understand. Thanks
