The only known issue is ALL 3 series of holley products if the battery gets weak will cranking there is a chance of the current tune in the ecu getting scrambled. This will result in a no start situation.
We have lost multiple high end 02 sensors as well on non leaded fuels.
Also have seen the very expensive dash everybody raves about go out and never come back on.
Nobody knows why.
Coil packs have failed as well.

All in all every system if its electrical will have some sort of glitch to it things do fail.
But the positive by far outweighs the bad

The main differences between the systems inmo is the traction control system.
the processor speed is fast enough on all of them and only taken advantage of when using the faster more expensive wideband!
the holley has an advantage over the in the traction control and other tuning areas.
And fuelteck is a step about all inmo.
That more racecar inmo for the dedicated.
And you will be paying for that😉
Holley has allowed many who aren't that great at tuning to be user-friendly enough to get things moving in a better direction easier.
Like all systems though the better tuner you are the better the car will run.

9-10 second "street car" is a fantasy. A few have done it. They did it with careful tuning a top notch components
Actually there are more out there than you think.
Street guys keep things quiet for a reason😉
and top notch components are not always needed to run these street times depending on the "approach"
Which is overlooked and not known by many.

You don't need a new ECU, You need a new wiring harness. And a a realistic set of goals.
Yup
He could have safety with an electronic boost controller with co2 which is a stand alone setup for not that much money that would piggyback on any computer system

If you really want to spend the money you can buy a Can bus or analog controller that works with the NTK and shut down the internal bosch CAN o2 input. However this will add $550-600 to the cost of the unit, but you can buy any WB Ntk sensor 24302 or 24300 and it will work, so you not locked into a $350 sensor like Holley does.
Why would anybody want to not use the faster wideband correction sensor?
Defeats the hole purpose for having the extra inputs to see what all the sensors on everything in the car doing?
If someone can't spend the $400 on the sensor they won't need that level of computer system.
It's well worth it and makes everything including drivability better.

HP and Dominator you can use the better NTK sensor that isn't killed as fast with leaded fuel and will read lower for alcohol. The annoying thing is on the Holley you can't just grab a sensor from the auto parts store.
all the info is from the o2
Spending the $ to see shock sensors etc and all the other things that go on with the car can be on a much faster sensor and is the main advantage in upgrading.
And we'll worth it.
We have spares if one goes bad.
