New to the GN world. I bought a K@N filter. Car is all stock 1987. Whats the correct way to cgange out the air filter? Dont see any clips to get it apart. Thanks.

Take the filter back and get a cone one. Take the top hose off and there is a wing nut in the middle.

This is better

Now I don't feel so stupid....or at least I'm not alone any more.:D

When I first bought my GN back in Oct, it took me a friggin' hour to figure out how to get the air filter out and I ended up removing hardware I didn't need to.

Anyway!
Remove the hose clamp from the elbow at the top of the canister; remove the two bolts at the back bottom side of your MAF; Move the MAF hose out of the way and you'll find the secret nut.
Mine was a hex nut, but you might find a wing nut. Remove that and the filter will come right out.

Be sure to clean out the housing real good before you put the new filter in.

Thank you!
You da man!!!
:D

Take.....

Ttypes advice and lose the air box, it is very restrictive. you will gain a few horses just from that.

The Cone Type just clamps to the end of the MAF sensor.

But the real answer is just to put the cone on and bag the stock box when you re-attach everything from your turbo swap :)
