Ok with the drag radials..........if I get some will they hurt my stock tranny? I was thinking if the tires dont spin then the tranny is going to start slipping??

Now that I have add a bunch of stuff to my '85 my rear end which is a peg leg has gone from spinning one tire to leaving posi marks down the road...........and right now my car is only at about 9lbs. of boost.............Will I blow the rear end out once I start running my 16lbs. of boost on pump gas??

I was out working on my car this weekend and banging around town with her and getting some issue with it sorted out. I still have a boost problem.......but I just want to find out if I am going to run into problems with my stock rear end and my stock tranny with drag radials? Should I just go with some bigger street tires? Right now I just have the stock size (215's) Copper Cobras Radial GT's. Is it all about size or is it about traction rating and other stuff you can see on the side of the tires?

TIA, Nick

How many miles on these pieces?

Obviously when starting to make the power you need a posi rear in there and a typical stocker should last a long time.

Stock transmission with a lot of miles better have had a cooler on it during its' lifetime.

95K miles on the tranny and rear end as far as I know. The tranny has a cooler thanks to me last summer. Otherwise they are both stock. So will my peg leg blow out on me? Or should it be good for a little while.

Do drag radials cause stock trannys to go south?

Thanks, Nick

I made pretty close to the same post on the TTA board yesterday and this is the answer I got from Razor

I bet you cant break the 9 bolt under your car.

He also went on with some more details. You might want to look at it.....

I snapped my axles last time to the track - tranny & rear is still fine...
