Anyone out there run both the m/t et street radial and the hoosier 28 x 10 slick on stock gta wheels? If so what can you tell me about them.

On a Buick or TTA?

Gearing is different.

Ahhh.. then on a Buick I would get the Hoosier 28 inch tall slicks.

The MT ET radial is 26 inches tall. The slick is 28. Gearing changes as the tire size changes.

26 is typically too short on 3.42's. When your making any kind of power.

That is the one I was leaning towards but since I usually just run an 1/8th mile track the height won't affect me. I want the one that will 60ft the best and I've heard that slicks are better than d/r's but the slicks are a medium compound vs a softer compound on the d/r's. Thanks for all the help.

I tried 28's on my car and it slowed down.

For me the narrow dr's like the 255/60 are hit or miss with track prep. The slicks have always been idiot proof.

The bigger DR's are the bomb.. but they dont last very long. like a 325/50 15

There is a new 28 inch tall 16 inch MT Drag Radial coming out .. its in their new catalog.. think it was a 295/65???

About time, been wanting 28" drag radials for a long time. The 26" ones, like Razor said, are too hit or miss for what I do.

As for the Hoosier slick, the 28x10x16 slick and 28x11.5x16 quick time pro are the same size and both in my experience work very well(I've been 1.49 on both).

Thanks for the input guys, I think I will order the hoosier slicks. I am looking at a mickey thompson brochure that lists the soon available sizes. It lists a 295/50/16 and a 315/45/16. The picture shows a different tread design however that looks exactly like the M & H Racemaster drag radial.

28" drag radial

The MT 275/60/15 DR is a 28" tire. The 255/60/15 is a 27" tire. The 275 works great if you are looking for a 28" drag radial.

Except that I have 16" wheels. I was just looking to find the best tire for a 16 x 8" gta wheel.

My buick feels like its runing out of gear in the 1/4 i run 275/50/15's

its a 12.0 car do you think the 275/60/15's will slow my car down ?

I would think you would be OK. What is your trap speed & rpm? Also it looks like the 275/60 is 9.2 inches wide and the 275/50 is 10.0 if your running et street radials so you will be giving up a little width.
