Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement

Are there other cars that can replace the drive belt tensioner on my 87 GN?

Not any. LC2 only I do beleive

I think there was / is a guy who works for Gates who said they were going to production run a batch
Do a search for tensioner.
It was recent.

Thanks, and yes I already know about Gates are trying to go into production, it's just a matter of when!!!

I think a couple guys had some OK used ones for sale.
Unless you need new.

The Gates guy posted again and said they had no plans to start producing them. I had a NOS one listed in the parts for sale thread for over a year until I finally sold it.

Hi Dave, Thanks for asking, but mine is still okay I wanted to have another just in case my original one breaks down.
It seems these one of kind drive belt tensioner are very hard to come by in a good price, but easy to come by if you laid out your social security money.

I know I'm going off track here, but you know Dave everything I see your avatar it reminds me of that movie Battleship, great movie.

I thought it was slightly entertaining as well - although pretty much unbelievable that 6 old geezers could start up and operate a mothballed battleship.
And some plot holes you could drive a Mack truck through, like when the nerdy scientist dood comes face to face with one of the aliens in the comm shack - and then..??? nada
One minute the navy guys are locked in the brig - the next day they are captains or something.
But for a real chuckle; watch Comicbookgirl19's review.
She destroys it.
She ends by asking - "What's next for Hasbro - Monopoly - The Movie?" LOL

"Like" our naval ships - but to me - the Royal Navy has the bestest names on the planet.
The whole post World War II "city, state, president" naming convention by class that we use doesn't hold a candle to the British Navy's names.
We used to do cool, like Enterprise, Intrepid, Hornet, Scorpion, etc...but now it's all former politicians and places.

Oh I don't know, I kinda like the naming conventions we have overall. For the most part, carriers are named after Presidents. But....Enterprise is coming back as CVN-80.

Destroyers, with few exceptions, are named after famous sailors. Except the latest 3 guided missle destroyers (new stealth design) which are named after ex CNO Zumwalt (DDG-1000), a navy seal Monsoor (DDG-1001), and a president LBJ (DDG-1002)

Cruisers are mostly now named after famous battles.

Yeah - I know.
I can live with most of them.
The state names are always good to me
But when the sheet hits the fan - I would rather send the USS Avenger to the Gulf of Oman than the George Herbert Walker Bush...but they both work as effectively.
And why does 41 always cry? I could never figure that out.

I still love the RMS names. So classic and intimidating.
