I have that thick bracket too. So I don't need that with this unit on a stock tranny? Not stock, but not th400.

if xmember is ordered for th400 you would just use the poly energy suspension part of the hr mount and that mount would bolt up to the 2004r (might need the poly mount holes slotted in a little )
also if you havent removed already you have to loose the stock cat hanger ,( there goes some more weight)
to help support the exhaust i used a universal exhaust hanger bolted under the DS loop bolt welded to the exhaust

In the 30 years I have had my turbo cars to the track, I have trashed many driveline parts and seen others do the same including U-joints, front and rear yokes, axles, ring gear with no teeth, but only one or 2 driveshafts actually fail?

Launching a 12 sec GN will quickly ruin the stock trans yoke by twisting the splines, and stock u-joints are next on the list.

Alum shafts are not necessarily better, but they are lighter, but I prefer steel shafts so I can also use billet steel yokes at both ends, and 1350 u-joints.

Spitting out a driveshaft at 140 MPH is an experience I only need once!

One place you do NOT need a part, or parts, that may fail, so you must be sure the driveline is never subjected to loads or situations exceeding their limit.

Just to clarify, if i order the brace for the TH400 I won't need that adapter?

This Iceman mount really worries me. I was all excited to buy one and searching online all I could find were people complaining that it moves around to much. Looking at the photo in post #19 make me worry more since the driveshaft doesn't look centered in the loop and could easily hit or at least may indicate that its deflecting under the weight of the trans. What is this X-member like when you pull on it ? Is it really rigid ? Does it move up and down an inch or so with hand effort ?
AG.
