Drivers Door Lock Switch won't Activate Alarm System

My friends 1997 T-Type has the factory alarm system. When locking the doors from the drivers side it wil not activate the alarm. By locking the doors on the passenger side it will activate the alarm.

Any ideas as to where to start looking.

There are 2 switches behind the door key switch.The one on the back usually corodes, it has a spring in it.There is also another switch that is like a toggle to the side of the key cylinder. HTH,good luck

Try pushing down on the manual lock first and then use the electric switch. My bet is that will work.
