My GN seems to be totaled and i don't think its worth putting the amount of money into it to bring it back, so if the motor is ok, which it seems to be, i wanted to buy some sort of roller and drop the motor and turbo into it...any suggestions on what kind of cars (other than a regal) would recieve a GN motor nicely? Thanks.

I'm not sure on the exact year but those 2 door Malibu's are nice, I think there 1979-82

Yea thats it... There is a 1979 Malibu for sale out here in the bay area on craigslist for 6800$ that already had a grand national motor in it.

it will be a direct bolt in to any 78-88 G body- Monte Carlo, Regal, Cutlass, Grand Prix, early Grand Am, Le Mans, Malibu, El Camino, Caballero. find one with a stock Buick V6, and your swap is really easy.
one car that i've never seen with a Turbo Buick is a C4 Corvette- you can pick up actual running 84-85 Vettes for under $5k. it wouldn't be a bolt in deal, but it would be kind of neat.
mid 70's Monzas came with 231's in them, so you can find one of those with the proper mounts.
another thought- there was someone on here last night asking how hard it would be to put a GN drivetrain back in his GN that someone had swapped a small block Chevy in somewhere along the line.. you could sell your stuff to him and move on to something different.

i think im gunna stick with a gn powered car, nomatter what shell goes on it, i want to feel that TR soul every time i hit the gas =P

Just check Craigslist, people who list their cars know how to "expand" their search results by putting stuff like "Grand National Monte Carlo Cutlass" into their listings, that way regardless of what you type in, their car will come up.

Cutlass would indeed be cool. I almost want one.

I think a grandma edition cutlass or regal would also be cool. Get some of the 15" steel wheels with wired hub caps. Keep everything as sleeper as possible.

Check the hybrid section, the LC2 has been put into numberous vehicles, including a C4 vette. His user name was "Roguevette", but haven't seen him post lately. Any G-Body would be simple, an 82-92 F body isn't too difficult either, maybe something lightweight like an older Z or RX7? I'd eventually like to do a swap into a '65 Riviera.

Edit, found Roguevette!

OMG- That Regal hearse with a GN turbo motor would be EPIC!!!!

Paint it black and add a turbo hood is all I'd do...

Power to weight ratio and still BUICK...OPEL!!! HOLY CRAP fast. A tank of gas, change of shorts and a hot chick. There should be alot of room to cram it all in.

I vote for 4cyl. Mustang Coupe Body. Light weight, every part other than the drivetrain you install will be cheeeeap.
