I just had an awesome (i think) idea....In the past when people talked about running dual fuel systems with race gas the main problem was that on the return the fuel would be mixing in the original tank and you couldnt do it on the fly so it was available instantly etc etc...

And now reading the e85 threads you need 83lb to get you into the high 10s with a double pumper..Then you need a giant external like this http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MRF-MP-4303 and then you get into replacing all your lines sumping your tank etc,if you wanna go faster.... So i got to thinkin why couldnt you use a metco fuel cell, the big external pump, a new -10 feed line with a y block at the rail and some high flow one way valves(if needed)Aeromotive 15107 - Aeromotive High Flow One Way Check Valves - Overview - SummitRacing.com and run e85 in both tanks...Have it set up so the hobbs switch turns the second system on at like 3 lbs like on turbo1dr car.... run the 120 lb injectors and the car would immediately be on kill if needed..

That way you can cruise around on your regular fuel system regular tank with warlbo (could it support 120s(modded ecm) or 160s (fast) for no\low boost driving around?) Then the other system is there when you need it for big power without takin up trunk space or choppin the regular fuel system all up..

You just gotta make sure your wheelwell cell stays full and actually couldnt you run a "T" where the rubber line goes to the sender and run a line over to the cell with a hand operated valve on it to fill the smaller cell back up if it gets low ... Im no guru but would this work?

A friend installed two separate, independent fuel systems. 2 sets of injectors (one set small, one set BIG), 2 fuel rails, 2 tanks, 2 pumps, etc. He switched it all using a pressure tranducer in the intake and used FAST. He runs gasoline normally and switches it E85 under boost. He used two sets of stock fuel rails and they fit the Champion Race intake just fine. I noticed the two fuel pressure regulators! Started looking closer and was blown away. It was ingenious!!

Of course, both pumps run all the time.

ps...you could run regular and racing gasoline.

The only problem with running regular and racing fuel is that it will mix and youll runb out of race gas and the mixture wont be good for instant on kill...

Read my post again. There are two independent fuel systems and the fuels NEVER mix! That is why there are 2 sets of injectors, two fuel logs, two tanks, two pumps. The whole thing is switched with FAST using a pressure switch located in the plenum (?).

Turbo 1 dr did the same thing Is that the setup ur talkin about? Thats what gave me the idea lol ...I was just thinking along the lines of using a single rail and two fuel systems so you dont have to butcher the car and you can use what most buick guys already have a hotwired warlboro..Build on that and if e85 ever fizzles out or if you wanna but the car back.. you can go right back to how it was with minimal headache..

Are most of you really running E85 with just a "hot-wired Walbro"? The thought of that scares me to no end! I really don't see how you can run 30% more fuel with an "in-tank" Walbro? Not to mention that the stock injectors are marginal at best w/o E85's additional flow requirement. If so, watch your fuel pressure and A/F ratio very carefully as you are quite likely courting disaster.

Tom Shea Racing Switch Fuel System

I have been doing this for years. Of course you have to switch the return lines as well. It is an "ON THE FLY" system controlled from the drivers seat while driving at any time.

Post some details.....?

TSR Switch Fuel

My system was actually shown on a car in GM High Tech mag. It was a rosewood T. The issue had another guy from our club on the cover shown with the Blackbird air plane. I regress. The system uses 2 serarate fuel sources, I usually place a cell in the spare tire well. I like Ron Kinkaid's at Metco. He has all of the specs for the system. He decided not to market the system but still makes the best cell. The rest is no secret but I'm not inclined to type it all out here. You can call me for free tech, just make it before 9pm. I'll eventually get around to writing something up and posting it on my clubs site, mgnta.com. Tom Shea 952-892-5669.
