How far do you push pcv valve into the rubber gromet on the intake. I just don't see how the pcv valve will fit to the fat part of the pcv valve where the lip is. If this is how it is are their any tips on doing this.

thanks, mike

take a look

here's a pic of it installed, yes these are a PIA to do on the car. basically push down until the body hits the grommet. I used a long needle nose squeezed around the lip then pushed down the pliers while wiggling the valve a little and she went in : ) use some lube on the valve too.

the problem with the pcv valve installation is that the original pcv grommet for the turbo regal hasn't been available for almost 20 years-----the replacement from GM (and the aftermarket) is not the same size as the original and has a much smaller hole----------the original production part had a larger hole and was undercut to make the insertion of the pcv easier and to create a better seal----------compare an original part from a production engine to the replacement part and you will clearly see this..............RC

I put the hose on the pcv & then push it in w/ the hose (you have to work the hose through/behind the hard lines) finding the correct grommet is a pita!

D

+1, the new grommet is tough, be careful not to push the grommet in the intake while trying to install the valve... :)
