I'd like to do the big neck upgrade. I cannot weld aluminum so I'm looking for recommendations in the greater Houston area. I live in Pasadena so south east side shops would be better for me. Anyone?

Another option is to check and see if there is any tech/trade schools in your area with a welding course. If you can find one, talk to the instuctor and see if they would like a project. If your not comfortable with option I can understand. Good luck

No, but any radiator shop should be able to do it.

There are a lot of machine shops up and down hwy 225. These shops support all the chem plants in the area. They also will weld ie heliarc for you. Most only charge 20-50 dollars . I had my intercooler repaired for $40 in Laporte.

And they do good work since they support the chem industry.

I'm familier with some of the shops on 225, but as you said they support the chemical industry. It's been my past experience that such shops don't cater to the little guy with one piddly ass weld. I'll look into it though. I was hoping someone would say take it to XYZ Co. and see Mack or Bill, they did a great job for me.

Sounds like you have had a bad situation with a local shop. I have never had a problem and have done a good job. The place I was re

As far as "they support the chemical industry" meaning they know what they are doing.

"I was hoping someone would say take it to XYZ Co. and see Mack or Bill, they did a great job for me.[/QUOTE]"........All I did was go to differnt shops. Did find one on 16th st and spencer in Laporte, just after the bridge.......John

BTW, I wasn't singleing out any specific welding, radiator, or any other type of shop. I've done some buisness with bigger companies who didn't make a lot of profit on me (like they do in support of the chemical industry), and I felt like more of a nuisance than a customer.
