Dynoing a corvette?

My friend has a 03' Z06 Corvette 6 speed and was wondering what gear they put in in when they dyno it? What difference, let's say, would it make if they did it in 3rd vs 4th? BTH, my GN put down more than his Vette! lol. Thanks, R.B.

I believe you are supposed to test in the 1:1 gear ratio.

Not sure which one that is on that car.

Just curious, what did you lay down at the rear and what power adders are on your GN, & same question for his C5Z06?

Gary that info is in my signature for mine. Not sure about the Vette. He put down 388 hp and 350 torque.

The reason that I asked is that a bone stock C5Z06 will lay generally lay down about 350-360 RWHP. He's probably running a tune and CAI.
Might want to search on >CorvetteForum.com< under the C5Z06 section. As most forums, you can read but not post, I believe. A couple of the guys from Texas with vettes and turbobuicks are on there and TB.COM.

I'm pretty sure 4th is 1:1 because 5 and 6 are overdrives

Yeah, dyno'd the vette in 4th, things get interesting seeing 120 on the speedo sitting still. Very few people believe the "grandma" regal dyno'd more than the vette
