turbopowered 6 i can explain that question. there are bad apples every where you go this job is no exception. if i know a person is doing something illegal or immoral. it is my choice to not work with that person. because if your partner does something even if you had no knowledge of the incident you can still be brought up on charges. now that being said it is our duty as leo to report any person doing something wrong. and its the supervisor who has to make the call we cannot just go and arrest each other it would cause too many problems and or dangerous. ive personally seen internal affairs come to a precinct and walk an officer out in cuffs. there is alot of internal policies and procedures to deal with. just like criminals dont want to go to jail try arresting a coworker with a gun and training. you want to go the best route possible so no one gets hurt.

Reporting the person didn't seem to go too well for Dorner. I have to imagine the Blue code of silence is pretty evident everywhere. If you are a cop and you narc on a cop I bet they will run into problems and be looked down upon by most stations. I had a problem with a cop. I was being calm and collective and this guy went off on me for some unknown reason. The cop that did the report flat out lied in the report about me to make me sound like a monster. I reported the cop, but didn't fill out a complaint because it would just be my word against theirs which they call unsubstained. I will be recording any interaction with the police from now on though. I'm sure they saw the conclusion of it though since I was standing in front of the cop car with a camera. The cop asks, you understand why I did what I did right? Me: No, I have no idea why you would insult me, push me, and try to make me fight you when I did nothing wrong. The cop: Well fuck you, I'm done with you.
I seriously think he was having roid rage or something. It disgusts me that I pay a part of his salary.
ive had my neighbors which are non working drug users call the police on me a few times. when the police showed up i identified myself as a police officer which is policy for my department. i was lied about then miss treated by the police . the officer then lied on a report to make me look bad. when i went in to talk to his supervisor i was told to shut the @#% up and leave. lets just say i dont get along with lincoln park police. and some used to be detroit cops. always a few bad apples.
yea its unfortunate that some people have managed to get badges when its obvious to a 5 year old that they don't deserve it, and Dorner was one of them. Dorner should have never been allowed to become a cop and the problem is there are a lot more like him out there, not to say that the female cop he complained against was innocent or that there isnt truth to his complaint.
what get me is that we/i was thought that you lead by example, and i believe that to my core, i always try to instill that in to my family/friends and try to make them better people, the problem is when our front line of the community leaders/cops commit crimes, lie, steal, cheat, assault, sell drugs, rape, and murder what does that show our youth?
i was just having dinner with my wife parents aunt and uncle, and my dad and uncle were living there glory days of the first job they had when they arrived in this country, they worked at a fancy/exclusive hotel/restaurant and that if you showed up with out a tie and sports coat, you would be escorted into a room shown random ties and coats and told to pick one or you would be ask to leave, my wife and i were there 6 months ago for our anniversary and were blown away to see people in jogging pants and tee shirts enjoying their meal.
my point is that we as a whole we have lower our standards as to what is acceptable, what we allow as acceptable for manufacturing, what we allow pass for politicians, what we allow pass for education, what we allow pass for law enforcement.
when we allow people to refer to other people by racial slurs we have lowered our standards
when a older board members feel its ok to call or refer to a race as beaners we have lowered our standards
when said member was/is law enforcement we have lowered our standars

my father was a union pipe fitter and a great person and father. he raised us the right way. he has been gone about 4 years now ,i often talk about how we lost that generation and people dont have the same ethics or morals and respect. some of the teenagers i come across on an almost daily basis have no idea what hard work responsibility and not to be entitled. it scares me raise a child in this generation. ive been looking to move to a small town where the people still know you by first name and wave to you as you walk by. great you with a hello and the neighbors all know you and look out for each other. im just afraid its gone.

I appreciate your patience and concern to respond. I'm not mad at you or individuals so much but the system that develops LE's like the one's I've encountered in those instances. You sound like and probably are the in minority of LE's that actually care about those they serve and protect. Unfortunately like every other profession LE has become corrupted.

JK, it is exactly those issues that LE administration refuses to address that result in us law abiding, tax paying civilians carrying such animosity and low regard for all LE's. If as civilians we could once in a while see our complaints, concerns being addressed as fellow humans on equal footing with LE's there would not be this division. But this double standard that is as obvious as the sun coming up is what makes us nuts.
Oliver, I appreciate your patience, self control and concern but you still haven't really acknowledged any of us civilians have a legitimate complaint and that is the whole foundation of this thread. Neither side here is always right or wrong but if you won't admit a serious problem exists then we civilians are in trouble because the "law" is on your side; your word will be believed by a judge over mine every time one on one. I just went through that with a crooked cop who is in bed with an insurance scam. This lady drives around staging minor "accidents", she calls her cop buddy who is on duty and he responds immediately so no other LE shows up. He falsifies the report (I am not allowed to see it or get a copy till the next day after it is filed) and the judge tells me I will held in contempt for getting upset in court while the cop and his accomplice just smile. Neither the cop nor his superior would return my 3 phone calls or respond when I went to the precinct to address the falsified report and the judge told me to shut up when I brought that up in court. Total damage $275.00 to her car none to mine (I scratched her car, no dent, 1/8 of an inch more and I don't "hit" her), my insurance company paid her $1000 and lost wages due to claimed injuries.

i stated the system is flawed but i can only do so much. all i can do is treat people fair and show a little compassion. the system ie the city officials and mayor are mostley corrupt here and prob will never change thats why detoit is the way it is. im a small fish in a huge pond.

By law you can ask for a supervisor to come out.They have to give a copy of the report in Il. If he says no call the state police.They will respond. This is the same in most states. The cop has to make reports for everything he does.They would not do that to often because Ia would be all over reports like those with the same names coming up all the time.
