EGR Valve broke -help !

87 Grand Nat 35K -original EGR valve broke. The three screws holding the diaphram to the base sheared off so I am shopping for a new one. Any suggestions as to the best make available. NAPA carries Echlin and also Delphi brands. Local Buick dealer checked computer and found no originals are in stock nationwide and the part is "discontinued ".

I see that a block off plate is also available however how would installing one effect idle, warm-up or driveability ? What do you do with the vacum lines and the selenoid if you use the block-off ?

Parts wanted will find you one. Modern chips dont use them so seal it up with welding or silicone & plate & plug the hoses.

if yo have a visual emissions inspection not having an EGR will most likely fail you. You should be able to get a used one at most any junkyard.

I have an original GM EGR if you want it i'll ship it to you for $15. It has the mounting bracket. I also have the egr soleniod if you need that too.
