electric power steering

hello people's: Anyone know anything about them? I just found out my 13 CRV and my sisters 2012 Subaru has em. Her car lost PS the other morn so she parked it. I took t out later in the day and every seemed fine. What do youz do if there is a problem with it? Reminds me of the PM that came stock on our cars.. I wonder if anyone tried to put one in the TB.

2013 Explorer with electric rack and pinion.

A year ago when it was very cold I got the steering system failure notice on the dash a couple of times.
I shut the rig off, restarted it and was fine for 10 months until it sounded like there was gravel in the rack.
I had to replace the rack and take it to ford for programming.

I know guys have put rack and pinion steering on regals and other G-bodies.
In my experience, the electric steering rack would have to be tied into a body control module to be programmed. It seems trying to put an electric steering rack in a regal would be more trouble than what it’s worth, but doing crazy things to these cars has been done by people before, including myself.
