Electronic climate contol unit

I found an 85 rivi with a similar climate controller. I tried it in my 86 T and everything works, but the air only cycles through the defrost vents. I opened up the box and all the curcuitry looks the same. My question is can the CC be modified to work properly in a 86 TR. Thanks

No the boxes are not compatible. The Riv box uses electric servo's with feedback to the controller to run all the doors in the a/c box. The Regal used a vaccum distribution programmer to actuate vaccum operated servo's. The Riv controller will show an error by flashing the temp light. FYI
