I just added a chrome rad support to add to the bling factor tonight.. so some updated pics of the engine bay on the 87 GN

Now this is one clean setup,looks awesome!!!!

Actually.. it was the lack of vacuum block and not one vacuum line on the whole engine - that can come off - got the idea from "summit". A vacuum line kept me from running 10's with the stock block just before I pulled it (boost drop). Vowed that wouldn't happen again.

i noticed you were running all braided lines and fittings for vacuum - do you have a common vacuum manifold/reference point hidden somewhere? where is your vacuum source and also are you running a PCV?

Thanks for the compliments guys. I've had many muscle cars over the years but for some reason I love working in the engine bay on the GN. It's fairly easy I guess is one big help! I've seen so many that were "overdone" in my eyes but I try to find that happy medium with the chrome. I'm still on the fence with the alternator. I was thinking of adding a chrome one sometime soon. The one on there now I clear coated so it stays nice. Sometimes a clean stock part looks better then chrome!

87lightweight: The rad support I just had chromed by a local chrome shop. The 2 brackets I got lucky with. A guy had those 2 brackets and a pile of factory bolts just chromed. Put it on ebay with a buy it now of $25 bucks. I could not push buy it now fast enough! lol He also threw in that one piece in front of the latch for free. He still is my best friend! I think over the winter I'm going to tackle the wiper motor.

Yep.. there's a plenum spacer with 2 -4an ports under the TB and the pcv is hooked directly into that spacer too on the side.

Not just the nicest buford engine bay but right there with the best of them.
In my opinion anyway.

What type of downpipe treatment did you use? Is the pic before you put any miles on the motor? Nice job!

That's Jim Lauer's "Silver Bullet" car. The picture has some photoshop work done to it to highlight the motor becuase the downpipe is just a stainless piece.

We're talking about the COLOR of the engine bay in that picture. It's been enhanced. They've darkened up some stuff and highlighted other stuff (like the exhaust). I've seen that car in person and the downpipe and headers don't look like that in real life like they do in that picture. That's all.
It's still plain awesome regardless of the picture quality so don't take that the wrong way.

Brian was that the one you sold a while back that had the pillow top seats and was super clean underneath. And was up here somewhere. A guy in the club I'm in had it.
