Ive been having problems with my 85 ttype and I bought a new mass air flow sensor and it ran great for awhile, then one day I tried starting it, and it would only run if I hit the gas, and would run rough and smoke a little out the exhaust. Then I bought a new mad sensor again and ran great for only a day or two. And then would act up again. So I brought that one back and replaced it and would only get 2days out of it. Anybody could think what this could be?

do not have a hot air car, but I have found that the re-man MAFs are crap.

Yes they are known not to work well. The problem is there's not a cheap way out.

Yep. In the old days the magic number was '12'. What that means is it took 12 tries at the store to get one that ran 'right'. I have to imagine it's worse now.

In this day and age, a translator and modern MAF are a must. But once and done.

You can skip the MAF/Translator, get PL and SD chip from TT.

The IAT will need to be installed in the manifold (becomes MAT), update to 86/87ECM, and get a 3 bar MAP.
