engine trouble but not a bad thing!

Well first things first. I was driving home from work the other day and my choke/oil light pops on then goes out then pops on again followed by the car shuting off. After about an hour of me cussing and yelling at my car i finnaly popped the hood and looked around. Nothing seemed out of place so i pull the oil dipstick and you guessed it nothing on it. This seemed alittle wierd because i just checked it before i left work 5 min prior to this happening. I look under the car and see oil on the ground so i looked behind the car and found an oil trail that was about 300 feet long. I dont know what caused this and any guesses from yall would be great. Now on to the good news i just got my new .30 over block and i am going to start a full rebuild so i can get her runnin again. so all is not lost.....yet. Harry

Lost the oil plug?
Lost the oil filter?
Spit out the rear main seal?
Lost oil line to turbo?
Oil pump housing spilt?
Front seal went bad?


Lots of variables, but that is quite a bit of oil to lose that quick! Let us know what you find.

i am going to see what i find when i tear the engine down. I just hope its nothing really obvious that i missed. I will keep you informed on the build up. Harry
